About Carl Curtis Hodges

A long time resident dedicated to serving New Smyrna Beach

MY STORY

As a kid growing up in Orlando, New Smyrna Beach, was my favorite place to visit and have some of my fondest memories here. After High School, I started Hodges Brothers Roofing and Construction. I have always given back to my community. Some of my philanthropic projects included Grace Medical Home, Distine Foundation Community Centers, Jail Ministry and building Affordable Housing with the City of Orlando. I've had the privilege of watching our beautiful coastal community grow and evolve over the decades. My mother taught me the value of hard work, integrity and community service, Values that continue to guide me today. After retiring full time to New Smyrna Beach I began my second career of "Finding Diamonds in the Rough" restoring and preserving properties. My most recent restoration project is the former Womens Club of New Smyrna, now known as The Magnolia. I have given back to my community by restoring the New Smyrna History Museum after a hurricane. Serving on the Historical Preservation Board currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Board. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our city.

My wife Laura and I love living in New Smyrna Beach and spending time with our 6 kids and 9 grand children and our dogs, Cosmo and Tucker.
